Final CTRL + ALT + SPEAK Open Mic Event Brings Youth Voice to the Stage

Lead The Way Learning Academy, in partnership with Caroline Inspires, proudly hosted the final event in our CTRL + ALT + SPEAK Open Mic series. Sponsored by UpRys, this special evening provided free food from Raising Cane’s and supplies for our backpack giveaway, making it not only a night of creativity and expression, but also a way to ensure our students had what they needed for the school year.

This closing event was a celebration of youth talent and community. Our very own Lead The Way youth spotlight, Alayna Jackson “AJ” & Cartier The Poet, stepped onto the stage with inspiring performances. We were also honored to feature the powerful artistry of Meaca Moore, guided by the incredible energy of Caroline Inspires as Emcee and DJ Dr. View on the music.

In recognition of Caroline's leadership, passion, and dedication to uplifting youth voices, Lead The Way proudly presented Caroline Inspires with the 2025 Community Partner Award. Her partnership has been essential in creating spaces where students can shine and be heard.

Why Youth Voice Matters

The CTRL + ALT + SPEAK series has shown us the power of giving young people a platform to share their stories, their art, and their truth. For many students, opportunities like this are rare. Through spoken word, music, and creative expression, they are able to process experiences, build confidence, and connect with their peers and community.

When youth are heard, they feel valued. When they feel valued, they lead. That’s the heartbeat of our mission at Lead The Way: creating spaces where the next generation can grow into their power and use their voices to inspire change.
