August 6, 2025

ree

On August 6, 2025, our summer entrepreneurship cohort proudly hosted their very first Lead The Way Pop-Up Shop at the Community Impact Center. This milestone event was more than just a showcase; it was a true learning experience that challenged students to step into the role of entrepreneurs and put their skills into action.

In preparing for the event, students worked collaboratively as a team to:

  • Conduct outreach and surveys to better understand customer needs

  • Make professional connections with local businesses and community members

  • Create marketing materials and spread the word about the event

  • Practice phone etiquette and real-world communication skills

  • Write and distribute their very own press release

The result? An amazing turnout and a powerful example of what happens when young people are given the tools, mentorship, and space to shine.

Celebrating Student Entrepreneurship

The Pop-Up Shop gave our students the chance to experience the entrepreneurial journey from start to finish. They learned the importance of planning, teamwork, communication, and perseverance. More importantly, they saw firsthand that their ideas can become reality when they work hard and lean on the support of their community.

Special Thanks

We extend our deepest gratitude to Mary “B” Relotto for her leadership, guidance, and expertise in running the entrepreneurship group and creating this incredible opportunity. Her vision and mentorship made this event possible, and the students are walking away with lessons and experiences that will last a lifetime.
