FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
[Columbus, Ohio] — January 2026 — Lead the Way is proud to announce a new, innovative chapter in its mission to prepare youth for success beyond high school. With a longstanding commitment to empowering students through college tours, career exploration, and hands‑on experiences, Lead the Way is now integrating cutting‑edge technology to expand that impact.
Through partnership with TAP (Training All People) and with generous support from Spectrum, Lead the Way will begin utilizing Meta Quest 3S virtual‑reality headsets to offer immersive career exploration. This technology enhances traditional learning with fully interactive simulations, allowing students to experience career pathways in a realistic, engaging environment.
On January 16, 2026, Sr. Account Executive Isai Pochtar joined Lead the Way staff for a demonstration of both the TAP platform and the Meta Quest 3S devices. During the session, coaches learned how to navigate VR safety features, set exploration boundaries, and guide youth through a variety of training modules. Participants even tested several lessons firsthand, gaining confidence and excitement about integrating VR into their programming.

The TAP platform offers an extensive catalog of virtual training opportunities in high‑demand technical fields, including Automation Technician, Robotics Technician, Maintenance Technician, and more. Through immersive simulations, students can safely explore complex environments, observe real‑world scenarios, and build foundational understanding of careers that continue to evolve in the modern workforce.
This VR expansion is made possible not only through Spectrum’s support, but also through grant funding administered by Aspyr, with generous backing from Franklin County Jobs & Family Services and the Franklin County Board of Commissioners. Their investment allows Lead the Way to offer additional enrichment opportunities that enhance program quality and elevate the overall student experience. Aspyr, which oversees Lead the Way’s grant, continues to play a pivotal role in ensuring these advancements directly benefit the youth we serve.

Lead the Way is thrilled to bring this engaging, future‑focused method of career exploration to our students. This partnership not only enhances the learning experience but also ensures our youth are equipped with the insight and tools they need as they prepare for life after high school.
Lead the Way extends its deepest appreciation to Spectrum for its donation which allowed the purchase of 5 Meta Quest 3S headsets as well as accessories for a complete experience. Appreciation is also extended to TAP for providing an exceptional career exploration platform, and to Aspyr, Franklin County Jobs & Family Services, and the Franklin County Board of Commissioners for championing youth opportunity through essential grant support.
