On March 26, 2026, Lead the Way hosted West High School Intake Day, a high‑energy event that highlighted student leadership, community pride, and access to opportunity. Held on campus, the event created an inviting space for students to learn more about Lead the Way while actively engaging with peers and staff.
From the moment the intake began, West High School students showed up with enthusiasm and initiative. Students not only signed up for the Lead the Way program but also took initiative in promoting the organization, encouraging friends and classmates to attend, and helping build excitement around the opportunity. Their energy set the tone for a day rooted in connection, empowerment, and ownership.
Throughout the event, students explored Lead the Way resources, checked out headsets, and proudly represented the program by sporting Lead the Way swag. The tees were especially popular, serving as a visible symbol of student pride and interest in being part of a supportive, future‑focused community. Each interaction demonstrated how students are eager to engage in spaces that center their growth, voices, and aspirations.
West High School Intake Day was led by Coach Coffee and Coach Josiah, whose presence and leadership played a key role in the success of the event. Their ability to connect with students, foster an encouraging environment, and keep the energy high contributed to a welcoming experience that resonated throughout the day.
More than just an intake event, the day reflected what is possible when students are empowered to lead and promote opportunities within their own school community. Students stepped into roles as advocates, ambassadors, and leaders—reinforcing Lead the Way’s mission to support youth not only through resources, but through confidence‑building and peer‑driven engagement.
“This is what community, leadership, and opportunity look like,” a Lead the Way representative shared. “When students are excited, involved, and taking ownership, it shows the impact of creating spaces where they feel valued and supported.”
West High School Intake Day stands as a powerful example of how meaningful partnerships between schools and community organizations can inspire student participation and strengthen pathways for success. Lead the Way Learning Academy looks forward to continuing its work with West High School students as they take the next steps in their personal, academic, and professional journeys.
