Meet Lead The Way
We’re a pipeline from potential to opportunity for Columbus youth.
We Exist for the Student One Barrier Away from Success
Lead The Way is a nonprofit youth development and workforce readiness organization serving students across Franklin County in grades K–12.
Since 2004, we’ve helped young people gain the support and real-world exposure they need to graduate, earn credentials, and step into college, careers, trades, or service.
Lead The Way removes barriers like transportation, food insecurity, food supplies, career access, and guidance, and creates a path to what every young person deserves: a future with options.
Our Legacy of Youth Advocacy
Lead The Way began in 2004 as a youth workforce development and outreach program at the J. Ashburn Jr. Youth Center. What started as a local effort to connect young people with opportunity quickly grew into something much larger.
In 2014, Lead The Way was incorporated as a nonprofit, expanding into a community-based agency providing year-round educational enrichment, workforce development, and youth support services across Columbus.
Today, Lead The Way reflects an evolving mission: guiding students toward fulfilling their potential through personalized learning, social-emotional growth, and career readiness pathways that lead to long-term success.
