Lead The Way Strengthens Community Connections at Knowledge is Power Engagement Fair
On Saturday, June 27, 2026, Lead The Way Learning Academy participated in the Knowledge is Power Community Engagement Fair, hosted by the Faith Thomas Foundation at the Lowe's Whitehall parking lot in Columbus, Ohio.
The purpose of the event was to connect families with valuable community resources while increasing awareness and education about Sickle Cell Disease and Sickle Cell Trait. The fair brought together nonprofit organizations, healthcare providers, educational institutions, and community partners to provide information, services, and opportunities for local residents.
Lead The Way attended to increase community awareness of our programs, connect with families and youth, and build relationships with other organizations that share our mission of supporting young people. Throughout the event, we spoke with parents, students, and community members about the opportunities available through Lead The Way, including career exploration, workforce development, educational support, and mentorship.
Despite the rainy weather, community members continued to attend and engage with the different organizations. The event provided an excellent opportunity to network with community partners and strengthen Lead The Way's presence in the Columbus community.
