Honoring Ms. Jackie Kemp Through Service on Founder’s Day

On Friday, October 9, Lead The Way celebrated Founder’s Day by giving back to the Columbus community. Our teams visited Far East Community Center and Barnett Community Center to pick up trash and support the produce market by packing bags and helping distribute them to community members.

Founder’s Day is an opportunity to honor our founder, Ms. Jackie Kemp, celebrate her birthday, and recognize the work she has done from Lead The Way’s beginnings to where we are today. Her dedication to young people and families has helped shape an organization rooted in opportunity, service, and community connection.

Throughout the day, our teams put those values into action. Whether cleaning up shared spaces or helping families receive fresh produce, each task offered a meaningful way to support our neighbors and celebrate Ms. Kemp’s commitment to the community.

Thank you to The City of Columbus, Far East Community Center, and Barnett Community Center for welcoming our teams, and to everyone who contributed their time and energy to this day of service.

Happy birthday, Ms. Jackie! We are grateful for your vision, leadership, and the foundation you have built for Lead The Way. It was an honor to celebrate you by carrying your spirit of service forward.
