On October 21, Coach Dawn and community partner Anthony King met with juniors and seniors for the inaugural College Cohort meeting. Coach Dawn reviewed junior and senior year timelines, the Common Application, application deadlines, essays, and financial aid. Students also participated in a group interview activity designed to strengthen their communication and interview skills.
Anthony King discussed program expectations, including maintaining graduation readiness, consistent attendance, punctuality, and effective communication with staff. He also outlined the structure and expectations for future sessions.
The College Cohort will meet once a month on Wednesdays. This program is important because it provides students with guidance, resources, and support throughout the college planning process. By participating, students can build their college and career readiness skills, stay informed about key deadlines and requirements, and develop the habits and confidence needed to achieve their postsecondary goals.
