Lead The Way Youth Attend “Knowledge Is Power” Event on Blood Equity, Community Health & Access

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER: Blood Equity, Community Health, & Access + Blood Drive

Today, Lead The Way (LTW) had the opportunity to take students from Horizon Science Academy High School to the Knowledge Is Power: Blood Equity, Community Health, & Access + Blood Drive, organized by the Faith Thomas Foundation in recognition of National Sickle Cell Awareness Month.

The event brought together students, families, community members, and organizations to learn more about sickle cell disease, blood equity, community health, and access to care.

For our students, this was more than just an event. It was an opportunity to learn, ask questions, connect with community resources, and understand how health and access to care can affect individuals and families.

We are grateful to the Faith Thomas Foundation for creating this important space for education, awareness, and community engagement. Lead The Way is proud to expose our youth to meaningful community experiences that encourage learning, leadership, and service.

Knowledge is power. Awareness creates understanding. Community creates change.
